A NON-TRADITIONAL, PROJECT-BASED SCHOOL FOR CURIOUS & MOTIVATED LEARNERS

Welcome to Endeavor Microschool, a dynamic, project-based private school for elementary and middle school students driven by curiosity, creativity, passion for learning, and desire to make a difference!

Our innovative, learner-centered model is designed for students who think differently and embrace challenges in academics, visual and performing arts, and STEM, including but not limited to students identified as gifted and talented and twice-exceptional (2e). We welcome all highly motivated learners, natural leaders, and creative problem-solvers who long for a positive school culture and are eager to grow in a supportive and engaging environment.

Intentionally small, we are currently located inside Collierville Christian Church. We are an independent nonprofit microschool welcoming K-8 students of all backgrounds from Germantown, Collierville, Piperton, Rossville, and surrounding communities in Shelby, Fayette, DeSoto, and Marshall counties.

LEARNER-CENTERED

We prioritize students' interests, needs, and involvement in all stages of the learning process. By helping students learn how to learn, emphasizing student voice and choice, and ensuring that all learners are treated as individuals, we motivate and empower students to engage in, take charge of, and learn to love learning. Small class sizes and multi-age classrooms make it possible for us to listen, understand the unique traits and needs of each learner, and develop long-term, supportive relationships within a highly personalized learning environment that fosters growing autonomy.

CHARACTER-FOCUSED

We champion strong, positive relationships based on kindness, respect, and friendship as essential for growth, teamwork, and positive action. First and foremost, we focus on establishing a strong cultural foundation and an inviting, service-oriented learning community. Our Cultural Anchors form the framework and support for everything else we do. Additionally, nine Character Traits are carefully spelled out, explicitly taught, and intentionally modeled by adults as we empower and guide students in decision-making, collaboration, service, leadership, and self-reflection.

COMPETENCY-BASED

Well-defined, student-friendly goals (competencies) focus our time on the knowledge, skills, and character traits that ensure students are future-ready while mastery-based progression allows students to move forward when they are ready. Our flexible "living" curriculum provides an impressive level of individualization and personalization as students learn to chart their own course through the competencies. Individual progress is guided by feedback, tracked on our Growth Transcript, and substantiated with actual evidence of learning in digital student portfolios.

EXPERIENTIAL

Our belief in the power of experiential learning–education through direct experience and reflection–is evidenced by multiple field trips per month, outdoor learning, citizen science, civic involvement, and inquiry-based exploration. Principles of open-walled learning redefine the "classroom", break down boundaries, such as traditional groupings, and make learning more flexible, dynamic, and relevant to life. Learning through experience engages students with their surroundings and communities and promotes deeper understanding and connection to the world.

PROJECT-BASED

Experiential learning leads to meaningful project-based expeditions involving sustained inquiry, interdisciplinary learning, real-world problem-solving, collaboration, and the development of real products and services for authentic community clients and audiences. In addition, competitions like National History Day and VEX Robotics encourage students to apply critical thinking skills, explore topics in great depth, and grow through human-centered design thinking, iteration, feedback, and reflection. Our strengths-based team approach drives student-led projects to success.

TALENT DEVELOPMENT

Whether your child is passionate about animation, flight, music, visual arts, coding, audio production, engineering, sewing, robotics, or anything else, our programs are designed to identify a student's natural aptitudes and leverage their inherent strengths to produce genuinely impressive products and performances. Quality mentorship and authentic rigor form the framework for advanced and accelerated learning opportunities within a flexible setting where students have the time and opportunities required to develop a broad range of talents and interests to their fullest potential.

A CALL TO ADVENTURE

Imagine standing at the head of a daunting mountain trail, the imposing peaks of a grand mountain range beckoning from above. You know the journey ahead is wrought with challenge: varied terrain, water crossings, steep climbs, and intermittent weather, but you can also sense the possibility of discovery and achievement.

Welcome to Endeavor! Here, education is not confined to conveyor belts in a factory driven by standardized testing. It is an exciting journey of curiosity, accomplishment, and growth!

Thrilling project-based experiences transform learning into an expedition—one where students chart their own course, develop unique talents, and make a meaningful impact on their communities.

We are Summit Seekers. Every day provides new opportunities to ascend ever higher, to stretch beyond comfort zones, and to embrace the joy of the daily climb. Guided by experienced and caring teachers (climbing coaches) who are dedicated to helping students flourish and supported by a community of fellow climbers, our students learn how to become highly effective learners; they develop the knowledge, skills, and character traits needed to navigate the complexities of life, serve their communities, and lead with purpose.

We care about much more than tests and grades. Let us show you how Endeavor Microschool can help your child become their best self and climb to their highest potential.

Welcome to Endeavor. Let's climb.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

We are so grateful for Ryan Durfee and the positive impact he had on our son's school experience. He is truly dedicated to his students and created an environment where my son was encouraged to grow and 'think outside the box,' to be curious, challenged, and eager to learn more. My son always came home excited about all the projects and experiments Mr. Durfee had him working on, be it on science or history, and he especially loved the projects they worked on outdoors.
